As we conclude another significant year, we reflect on our efforts to improve governance in Somalia and amplify citizens’ voices. When we founded Somali Public Agenda (SPA) eight years ago, our mission was to elevate citizens’ voices and provide policymakers with data-driven analysis to guide policy decisions. In 2025, our work continued to place citizens’ voices at the center through the publication of research and analytical papers and by fostering dialogue between policymakers and the public to inform policies and strengthen governance in Somalia.

2024 was another productive year for the Somali Public Agenda (SPA). We published 16 papers, held 19 forums, produced 24 podcast episodes, trained 42 bloggers and 23 early career researchers, engaged and talked to local and international media, attended conferences and workshops, trained four interns, and started working with like-minded institutions.

2022 was a very productive year for Somali Public Agenda (SPA). We published 15 papers, held a record 19 forums (including 6 Gaxwo & Gorfeyn meetups), produced 22 podcast episodes, trained 30 bloggers, engaged and talked to local and international media, trained 4 interns, and started working with other like-minded institutions.
