In this course, you will be introduced to the basic ideas behind qualitative and quantitative research in social science. You will learn about selecting research topics, doing literature reviews, drafting research questions and methods; research ethics and integrity; recording/writing interview notes and writing transcripts; coding and analyzing fieldwork data, basic survey design, and writing, presenting and publishing fieldwork data.

You won’t just learn how to use qualitative and quantitative methods by listening to lectures.  Through the course, you will be designing your own mini research project to put some of the skills you learn into practice. The training will be delivered by instructors with extensive knowledge and experience in theoretical and practical aspects of research methodology. During the course, the trainees will have the opportunity to interact with distinguished guest instructors who will be invited where they deem suitable in the training modules.
