My journey with Somali Public Agenda (SPA) began long before I officially joined as an intern. In January 2023, I had the opportunity to participate in a research focus group, which introduced me to SPA’s research-driven approach to public policy. Although I was initially not eligible for an internship because I had not yet finished my university degree—which is a minimum requirement for candidates applying for this opportunity—I remained engaged by attending SPA forums and closely following the organization’s work. During this period, I also completed two advanced courses offered by SPA: Research Methods and Blog Writing. These courses further strengthened my skills and prepared me for future opportunities, laying a strong foundation for my eventual entry into the institution.
